How to sync SIM contacts to gmail

 Hey guys!

I was wondering if theres a way that I could sync all my contacts that are on my SIM card onto Gmail just to have them backed up incase like my phone gets stolen and all my contacts with them.

Ive tried syincing my gmail and my phone a few times, and still nothing. I only have the new contacts that ive saved to gmail available.

Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
