When I try to send out mail from my gmail account it just hang around in my outbox. What can I do to fix that?

I had that happen when I would try and send e-mails while on the EDGE network.

Since the only place I'm on Edge is in my bedroom, I turn on the wireless and they send no problem.

If you have a task killer, I'd Kill GMail, make sure you are on g3 network or wireless and then re-open the mail app.

Most likely it will send when the network speed is better. It might just be waiting for the right speed to connect efficiently.  
On the other hand there is a known problem with forwarding emails from the trash and spam folders. There is a discussions on androidcommunity.com about this:
