addressing emails in gmail

I find it very cumbersome to address gmail emails. After u pick an address from the autocomplete feature, I have to close the kybd and then select from another list when I just want to move to the subject field. I miss the 'next' button from iPhone

Any tips?

The tab button does work in gmail, I just checked
