Hello all. I bought the MyTouch Slide on it's release date and I am hoping that was not a mistake. I went to the MT Slide from the G1 and so far I am not impressed. I am hoping that by joining this forum my mind can be changed.

The reason I am wondering about buying it right away is that it may still be in it's "bug" phase. The phone to me has many problems such as how slow it is. How if I touch one thing on my home screen say like Contacts it will pull up Messages. My keyboard does not stay lit even while I am typing. Sometimes when I pull up the Dial feature the key pad does NOT appear. There are a few other things that I cannot think of at this time.

I have been hoping for downloads or updates since I got the phone hoping that would be the fix to the issues but I have yet to see one.

Can anyone help me here before I put it on a tee and drive it 200 yrd off my back deck.

You should be driving further than 200yd, shouldn't you?? haha... Seriously though, welcome here.  I can say that I've come across a couple of your problems (missing keypad and the keyboard lighting issue).

RE the keypad, I froke out when it happened to me but a simple restart solved it and it hasn't happened since.

I haven't noticed a huge problem with speed but it depends on the amount of space taken up on the phone's memory.

As far as the keyboard lighting issue, mine normally takes a second to come on and I would assume this problem and yours is due to the light sensor taking a second to respond so, in turn, it isn't instantaneous.

I'm sorry to hear it isn't impressive to you; however, we hope you'll continue to be active here and hopefully the "kinks" will get worked out!
